Jason Aldean Concert!

Our Saturdays are pretty typical.

We wake up early.
We go to Aidans football game.
We come home.
We want to rest but end up doing other stuff.
Fall asleep extremely exhausted later than we would like.

This Saturday wasn't really any different except that. The football game was a home game, so we got to sleep in until 7am. Yes we do realize that its pathetic if we think sleeping in until 7am is exciting. We had time to chill and get ready and we had a visitor come into town after a really long night shift just to watch Aidan play. We all camped out (in the sun) and although you aren't supposed to bring in food, we snuck in some starbucks.

Yes. We are raising a bunch of rebels.

He won his game and it makes his team the undefeated team in the league (number 1 woot!) and so afterwards we decided to grab lunch and eat in the backyard. The backyard that will hopefully SOON have a fire pit. Yay Pinterest. After lunch we vegged, watched Space Jam and then after our guest left we.....

GOT READY FOR A CONCERT!!!!

That's right. The man and I had the kids head over to Alicias to enjoy his birthday party and we headed out to a concert. Their aunt picked them up after the party so we were had nothing more to do after the drop off than enjoy ourselves. Which we did!

I was a little nervous because we left later than planned and then sat in a line for entry for what seemed like eternity that we wouldn't get a good spot, but as luck may have it we had some security guard flag us over, move around some blankets and shazaam! We had great seats. It was wonderful. We sat next to nice respectful folks, we had plenty of space, we  were nice and close and the concert was amazing. We were there with a couple friends and honestly had one of the best times. I mean. It was no Miranda concert but it was pretty stinking good!

Jason Aldean. Florida Georgia Line. Tyler Farr.

You really can't go wrong with that line up. We all had a couple drinks but kept it fun, LOTS of laughs and big smiles most the time. It was a night to remember for sure.

Feliz CumpleaƱos...

Well. September was a special birthday month for two of our littles. Aidan and Rian got to celebrate their special days and to do so we did a tiny family bbq on a Sunday for some presents and such but then we spent the day a couple weeks later a the SF Zoo. We had planned on making it a day and also going to Jump Highway but Aidan was to be back for Football practice because they were going up against an undefeated team. Which they beat that weekend! WOOT!

While at the zoo, the boys enjoyed every last thing they say. It was awesome. The zoo was nearly empty, all the animals were out and super close to the glass and the kids loved it. We let them ride the train, we shared some soda, we all got excited at the sight of the baby gorilla that was just TOO CUTE! It was a blast and the boys really reveled in the one on one time they got with us. We forget how nice it is to take a step back and treat each kid to a moment.

Now. The drive home. That was another adventure!

So after a super fun day at the zoo we were driving back and on the Bay Bridge the car decided that we needed to sweat a little on our drive home so the brakes nearly went all the way out. We were in bumper to bumper traffic on the Bay Bridge when Jared very calmly told me we barely had brakes. Long story short. We pulled over in Emeryville nearly 20-30 minutes later, we checked for leaks, we filled up the brake fluid, we let it cool down, we even made a night of it since Practice wasn't going to be made and we had dinner at Fuddruckers. The boys were happy. we went back to the car after traffic had died down and we attempted the drive home. The brakes came back and we made it safely. Weirdest thing ever!

We always seem to make the most out of the crappiest situations and although nothing happened to us, it could have been worse and it made me grateful to have such a calm and collected man driving. We all know had I been driving I would have been in tears, pulled over, called a tow truck and been DONE. Ruining the entire second half of the day. Thank goodness he knows how to keep his wits about him!

Happy Birthday Aidan and Rian. We love you both very very much!

Beach Fun and Football!

Aidan's Football season has had us driving all around the bay area to get to games and the last away game had a particularly nice venue. Where we sat in the bleachers we could see the ocean so we decided that since we had a few extra hours before we had to do anything and we took it to be a "beach day!". We had my nephew Corbin in tow for the day and boy was he a trooper. He made it through the entire football game (which was a WIN!) and was the only kid who sat still the whole time.  We drove down to the beach spots and stopped at a lunch spot and gobbled up yummy food at a local spot, we walked down to the beach from there and although we thought it might be too cold for the water the kids thought otherwise! They were all excited to get nice and wet and honestly, I am glad they did so. It made for a great time. We did however have one missing kiddo, but we will take her next time for sure! It was a beautiful, clean and nearly empty spot. The kids got to see some local surfers and according to Laneya that was on her 'bucket list'. To meet a surfer. Funny the things kids mention out of the blue.

Such a fun day.

Little miss opening her presents!

This girl has been in my life forever and I just adore her! Rian had to get in on the pic action of course :)

Quick family 'dinner' visit from the Rodriguez Clan and of why not have a quick dog pile moment! Looks like Carina got the raw end of this deal!

Aidans Season Opening game. He scored a RUNNING touchdown. So cool. His team kicked butt! Coach said more points in this one game than they scored all last season!

These girls are seriously the prettiest ever!

Rian is no dummy. He doesn't mind schmoozing with the ladies. Hehe. Now if only we could have gotten little Miss Alyssa to look at the camera!

Snook Family style Birthday BBQ Bash. Well of course!! Can't believe all three of these little men are getting so old! SLOW DOWN ALREADY!

Happy Birthday Hudson, Noah and Aidan!

Carina always makes these boys smile!

Little Miss Harper. Does it get any cuter?

Can we guess who is under the mask? RIAN!

Cause who doesn't love barnyard UNO. Haha.

Last but not least a little quick shout out to my main squeeze. Rian Jacob Hernandez. He turned 6th on September 8th and this mommy couldn't help but recall all we have been through, but more so...how far he has come. He is in first grade, he plays video games with the best of them, he can tie his shoes, read books, solve math problems and depending on the clock he can tell time! I swear. Tim has flown by and this momma's heart almost exploded as she sang him happy birthday. I love you little man, so very much!
