Visit at Grammy and Grampys!

Okay so we aren't married and my kids still called them by their names (Chuck and Diane) but for all intensive purposes this weekend we visited Grammy and Grampys house. AKA. Jared's Dad and Step Mom. It only took a little over a year but I finally managed to meet some pieces of his dads side of the family. His step sisters and nieces were there but I have yet to meet his step brother and nephews. I guess there are some cousins that often frequent the house as well, and I missed a significant other or two, but hey. Can't fill the weekend TOO much or else I wouldn't remember their names!

We headed out on Friday evening (later than expected but that's okay) and just as we got into town we made our first Colusa stop at a burger joint. Apparently its been there forever and is the spot to hang after football games. So cute. We totally grubbed down and after that we headed to their house. I was nervous and excited and well. You know. All those things you feel when you are meeting family for the first time. We walked in and boom! His sisters were great, his step mom was great and his dad of course was nice as can be. We sat and talked for what seemed like eternity and then off to bed we went.

The next day we woke up and headed out to a pancake breakfast at the local fire station and the kids demolished some pancakes and sausage. The kids took the free time to have a hilarious arm wrestle competition and Tyler even got dared to eat a sugar packet off a piece of sausage. Not something I would normally be okay with but what do you do when they are having fun and its a 'vacation' weekend. After the pancake breakfast we headed to a park to kill some time before a cute little festival started. The kids played and when they were all pooped from that we headed to the little fair and they got faces painted, painted more pumpkins and played lots of games. It was fun!

When we got home the kids jumped right in the pool and hot tub and played some games and hung out for a bit, you know, being kids. It was soo nice to see my kids, the Luoma kids and the cousins all hanging out and having fun. So great.

After that we took off for a little bit and attended a little birthday party for Jon's little one in Williams. We only stayed long enough for the kiddos to play in a bounce house, us to steal some tacos and Jared and Jon to play a prank on me which included a dead snake on the hood of my car. Those guys! I will get them back I swear!!!

Once we came back we had a BBQ and Jared even got his hands dirty there as he had to cook up the brats and hot dogs. That man. He can sure make me smile with even the littlest of things. We grubbed and after we were all stuffed and tired we managed to squeeze in even more fun! We decorated pumpkins with the stickers, the kids did anyways. We told scary stories. Which Jared was the star of most of them. Hilarious! We sat around a bonfire and even roasted some marshmallows in the process. I haven't had that much family fun in quite a while. After that the kids went to bed and Jared, his sisters and I all hung out and chatted more and had a couple drinks and just relaxed. It was nearly 2 before we all went to bed and honestly I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I had a great time, I believe all the kids had a great time and although I feel a little tired, moody and worn out still from this weekend, I can't wait to go up again! So fun!

Now you can enjoy all our crazy kid pics!

So Much Stuff!

Well it has been a crazy couple weeks, then again, when AREN'T we having crazy weeks! We have had a birthday, a road trip, a sleepover, a vet visit and I am sure there is more but that is what I can think of right now! Instead of boring with the details since I am doing a 'mash up' post. I will post the pics and "narrate" where its necessary!

Enjoy!

Laneya broke in the house with the first official sleepover. She had Jaz over and it was a great time. They had a half day that day so we made an afternoon of it and stopped off for lunch before we had to get Carina. They were of course, more than willing to take some pics! During the sleepover we painted pumpkins, made a cake (Jaz and Neya) and even made Jack a new dog bed. We also had a BBQ at the house the same weekend but I didn't get any pics because it was just a couple friends and my cousin and her kiddos. Nothing really huge to report there, although we did get to try Jared's ribs. They were good but I still bet mine are better :)

Rian built his first lego creation ALL BY HIMSELF! He was so excited and so was I. It only took us two days. Tyler sure does make it look easy!

Thank you Pinterest for giving Jared and I yet another fun task to complete. We made Jack his first bed. We felt bad that he was always on the ground sleeping and he made a HUGE mess the first time we took a cushiony bed outside so we (Jared) looked this up. I found the video and voila. Our first home made dog bed. Jack of course sleeps on it but also find the ground still quite comfy. Dogs.

This last week we also celebrated a birthday in the house. Carina turned 15 years old. I think a new gray hair sprouted for me that evening at 8:30. She was at her dad's house so of course I went over nice and early and took her and the littles some Starbucks to start their day off right and took her this sweet cake from her Dad and I. She sent me a pic forever ago and I made it come to life. She loved it and I am so glad she did.

I of course must take a few minutes to say...Carina Renae. You have grown into quite the little woman and each and every day I see you grow up I am amazed at your sense of self. I  know not all days are easy but I also know that I will always be your biggest fan and most loyal friend. I may be your mom but you have taught me so many life lessons along the way. I hope this year is even better than the last 15! Love you to the moon.

Apparently Jack was not impressed with it being Carina's birthday.
